DEAD AIR turns your phone into a spirit box. Type a question, and the dead answer — in words that fade in from the static, burst through with a crackle of interference, and are spoken aloud.

Tune the dials like a real ghost-hunting device: sensitivity, volume, and sweep knobs, an auto-sweep mode that scans the other side on its own, and a signal-strength meter that drifts as presences draw near. Shake the phone to summon a word. Every session is wrapped in a found-footage camcorder treatment — blinking REC, running timecode, tape grain — with a blood-red night mode for after dark.

The spirit's vocabulary holds 200 words and answers smart: ask "where" and you'll get places, ask yes-or-no and you'll get answers. Plant up to 50 of your own words and they'll surface among the dead's replies. Every question and answer is kept in your session log.
